Do you need a visa to travel to Brazil?

The bearer of HKBNO passport does not require visa to enter Brazil. However, if you hold another kind of Hong Kong passport, such as HKSAR, HKCI or HKDI, you need a visa to enter Brazil. The type of visa that you should apply for depends on the purpose of your trip to Brazil. The two most common types of visa are described below, i.e., the tourist visa and the business visa. If your trip does not fit those descriptions, please contact the Consular Section for more information.

If you are a bearer of a passport other than a Hong Kong passport, please contact the Consular Section for more information, as Brazil has visa waiver agreements with certain countries. Also, depending on the place of birth or nationality, regulations may require the Consulate General to request that prior authorization from the Ministry of External Relations in Brazil be granted in order for the visa to be issued. In this case, an extra fee of HK$ 250.00 will be charged and some delay should be expected.

In most cases, the issuance a visa requires three working days. Note that a visa must be used for entry in Brazil within 90 days from the date of issue. If no entry occurs in 90 days, the visa is automatically expired and should the applicant still wish to enter Brazil the visa application procedure must be repeated.
